KORTRIJK – KORTRIJK - The renowned Kortrijk-based flooring company Liquidfloors, owned by CEO Miguel Garcia, revealed a remarkable international showcase last weekend. In Noorwegen vond de opening plaats In Norway, the opening was held of a building as prestigious as it is groundbreaking: the spectacular Salmon Eye, a unique concept in the Far North. The event was graced by prominent figures, politicians and artists who came to marvel at a unique piece of architecture but also at the special choice of materials for the seamless Liquidfloors floors 'Made in Kortrijk'.
Salmon Eye, an exhibition centre developed as a high-profile discussion platform for sustainable fish farming, is in fact a ship 26 metres in diameter by 15 metres high, and was clad with, among other things, 9,500 'fish scales' made of polished stainless steel. Every year, thousands of tourists will be able to admire both a view underwater and views over the wonderful Hardangerfjord, the fifth largest fjord in the world.
Liquidfloors, a trendsetter in decorative cast floors, was allowed to supply the seamless floor and wall finishes for the project. The family business - founded in 2009 by brothers Miguel and Caëtan Garcia - evolved in recent years from an installation company with its own product development to a product leader in its niche.
STRATEGIC ADJUSTMENT
Liquidfloors' seamless floors are now chosen internationally by leading architects and installed by certified installers in various regions and countries. Given the large and relentless demand, Liquidfloors also wants to adjust its strategy.
"We are receiving more and more international requests for projects and for some time we have not been getting them all installed ourselves," says CEO Miguel Garcia. "This is why we are constantly scouting for the most talented installation companies and training certified partners in the processing of our products. This allows them, as approved installers, to offer and install our products as well. Also in Salmon Eye, Liquidfloors products were installed by a local contractor. In order to further expand Liquidfloors as a product brand, we will continue in Belgium with our own installation company under the brand-new name Flooristic. In this way, we will continue to serve West and East Flanders, Brussels and Antwerp with Liquidfloors products, but will also supply installation companies trained in the installation of Liquidfloors products in more distant regions. Our ambition is to supply the best installation companies with our materials wherever we become active. There are no short-cuts to that. We simply have to be the best choice."
Liquidfloors, together with its Scandinavian partner Michelsens, realised a project in Bergen, Norway, for fashion designer T-Michael earlier this year, and is currently working on an art gallery in Paris that should be completed by the end of this month. .
